I just planted a new rose last week, Blushing Lucy, a rambler, and I am
noticing that it is getting yellow and the leaves are dying. It could
be that is is just "settling in" from being shipped, but I am wondering
if it is getting dry. I water it almost every day, here is Wisconsin,
it has been very dry. I also have a new compost pile that I started
this spring, I am wondering if I can put some of my
not-yet-composted-compost around the rose to keep the soil from drying
out so bad. Any ideas? I think this year will be a dry year, it is
already in the upper 80's and low 90's, way ahead of itself.
Carleen, I could use some of your rain too, so be sure to send some my
way!
