The only rose I know for sure anyone in my
family has grown (besides the ones my mom
grows presently) is Cecile Brunner. My
mother's grandmother grew it on her back fence
(I've been told, she died before I was born).

My great grandmother always grew Peace. I can remember playing in her yard in
her beautiful roses. I remember thinking to myself "These must be the most
beautiful flowers in the world." (I was very little.) Since then it has been
Peace roses as my favorite. It made me love roses, but particularly Peace.
The only flower close to my love for roses is the Gardenia, but I think of
Grandma every time I see a Peace rose.
I guess you can say that Grandma hooked me on roses!
