Rose catalogs

Hi Gail,

I have been getting HOGR's catalogs for 6 
years and live a few hours drive away from 
them.  I am sold on own-root roses.

Just this year I ordered other catalogs.
(Almost as much fun as having the roses.)
I only recieved a list from Edmunds Roses.

I have Antique Rose Emporiums catalog and
I love it. I especially like their  "found" roses,
and lovely pictures. 1-800-441-0002. I will get
the $5.00 catalog each year.

Vintage Gardens is a nice catalog even 
thought it has no pictures. (really) It has very 
helpful drawings of the shrub shapes of all 
their roses. This "master guide" as they call 
it, describes nearly 2000 varieties at a cost of 
$5.00. Califorinia 707-829-2035. I like this 
catalog, it's a great one time investment.

I also have Pickerings & Hortico from Canada.
But I wasn't as impressived with their catalogs.

I have only bought roses from Heirloom OGR,
because I can go for the visit, and save the
shipping cost. So I can't tell you anything about
the quality of the other's roses.  They are 
wonderful resources, as they describe the 
roses better than some books. There sure are 
alot of roses out there.
