A couple of inches of well-aged compost in early spring (just as
roses break dormancy) makes for a good all out rose dressing.
Enriches the soil and slowly feeds the roses and worms. Then monthly
feedings (I am very happy with fish emulsion myself) continues to
feed the roses for blooming. Mulch is wonderful for keeping out the
weeds and keeping the roses cool and conserves watering. Then stop
fertilizing 6-8 weeks before your fall frost.
1 am... Where you gardening by ''drop-light'', Phillip? :-) New baby
in the house?
Sincerely,
~Carleen~
