[Rose-list] Re: Size of Constance Spry

I am not in a colder region than you Phillip, I'm actually in zone 8
of the Pacific Northwest, Oregon... but I thought I would comment on
this rose. I have a newer Constance Spry growing here (planted just
last May from HOGR's little guys) that is already 6 feet tall with
buds all along it, growing in nice amended soil with good compost and
fish emulsion. This rose quickly came back even thought it's tip was
broken off three times last summer; once by me, once by the llama and
once by a hard wind storm, before I built the arbor.

One that I left at my old home; fair to poor soil, nice hole, scant
feedings, three years old... had easily climbed up the shaded side of
a 7 foot arbor and reach across and filled the sunnier top-side of
the 9x4 foot wide arbor top. It is a wonderful rose, very ambitious
and full of lovely med-light pink blooms with nice yellow stamens. It
only blooms about 2 months and isn't very fragrant, but it's always
very health with NO disease. Awesome climber.

Sincerely,
