Re: Cuttings ?

Hi Carleen,

Well, surgery is over, I seem to be doing well except for the brilliant
red blush that appears whenever my memory touches on the rose list. I
had another of my postings go to the rose list and I noticed someone else
had a posting go there that obviously did not belong on it. I checked to
be sure that I did not have the rose list in my address book anymore and
I did not. Must be goblins at work even though Holoween is over!

I would like to get some cuttings of the two roses you offered if you
still have any available. My snail mail address is:
                Patti Wenham
                406 Mission Creek Rd.
                Cashmere, WA 98815

That is my new address and I will not be totally moved in until Dec. 12th
but Loren is down there every few days and brings the mail back. Terry,
who is house sitting there brings the mail in and will take care of it
till we pick it up. I have a container of soil all prepared for such
cuttings. Tell me what it costs to send it and what else you might like
in return for the cuttings themselves. I will try to accommodate you.
Thank you in advance for the offer.

Shirlee sent me her recipe for the truffles and I hope to make some of
them next week. I have several people I like to give some special
remembrance gifts to and these will be perfect.

I have to send address changes to the people who send me catalogs that I
want to keep receiving.

My roses that I moved seem to be looking good. The miniatures look
fine. I want to move into the old, fragrant roses now.

As "Keeper of the sheep" you no doubt mean that you raise sheep. What
kind/kinds? Do you spin the wool? I have a friend who spins wool and
also weaves fabric on a loom her husband made for her. I am not sure if
she dyes the wool she has and weaves it or if she buys the wool in the
colors she needs.

I have another friend who is blind and she raises sheep. I went to help
clean the wool when it was sheared and she was right in there cleaning
faster and better than we were. Her Mom and Grandmother were quite adept
at doing this too. I watched and learned as much as I could. In
addition to sheep manure I got lanolin on my hands so there were some
rewards along with the less pleasant aspects. I was raised on a farm so
am not squeamish about such things. I had forgotten how nice the lanolin
made one's hands feel.

Well, I guess I had better not sit any more for now.

Patti
