The only place I've ever ordered from is Heirloom Old Garden Roses in CA,
which sells own-root roses. http://www.heirloomroses.com

They have a stunning catalogue that's published once a year, for $5. Totally
worth it. I know of them because they carried the rose named for my uncle
(beautiful, but a powdery mildew magnet, alas). I've ordered 10+ roses from
them and every single one arrived in great condition and thrived.

P.S. Joanie -- I loved your riff on HT's ... it made me laugh very much. :>
