Nitrogen! A nice kick-start in the spring, I would think, but something
you wouldn't want to over-do, lest you end up with more foliage than flora.

I grow perennials, herbs and bulbs also. I'm familiar with Calla Lilies.
I grow the species, Zantedeschia aethiopica which comes from South Africa
(where, curiously it's considered a weed or sorts since it grows in every
ditch and gully in site). They bloom here in late spring/early summer, and
are not hardy where you are. I know there are some hardier Callas, but I'm
not sure exactly *how* hardy. I'm relatively sure none would tolerate the
ground freezing about them. Do you know the name of the particular hybrid
you have?
