tip of the day

Good Morning from California. Don't know if I got this tip from this list
or a web page or a magazine but it is working so well that thought I would
mention it again. For keeping roses fresh for a long time in a vase i do
the following. I don't do anything special while picking the roses. No pot
of water to lug around or anything. Just cut them, set them in your carry
all and bring them in the house. Cut them again under water and dip the
end in Listerine, keeping the bubble of Listerine on the cut as best you
can. Then simply put the roses in warm water in a vase. They last for a
week or more so far for me. Is that easy or what?? In the past I have
mixed sugar and bleach and set the roses in over night, to have to go over
the whole thing next day .......and they did not last anyway. Not like this
anyway. My roses are stunning in this last showing for the year, maybe
better than spring.
