It is like a white thistle plant, but wait until he sees how the color plays
up the
roses - much like gardeners use stachys (Lamb's Ears) or artemesia (Wormwood)
and other pale leaves to highlight various parts of the beds. Interesting what
Valerie
wrote about it having sharp leaves though - I might stick with artemesia.
