Re: rooting albas

Hi ya Tam,

I can see Mt. Rainier from my house, on a clear day... (waving)... :-)

About how far is Buckley from Portland, Oregon? I'm an hour North of
Portland.

I would love to see your list of roses, especially your albas. I have a
little over 100 roses myself, many are 2 years old or less.

Wonderful... What time of year seems to be the best in General?
Do you also have good luck with Rugosas?

Boy, I only know I've had a good one from 'Mme.Plantier', and my aunt has
taken many with success so I suspect she is easy to start... I took my one
cutting in June and it did very well.

I'm told that setting it near the Mother plant may be helpful... something
about a harmone put out by the mother plant?!... perhaps it's just
mycorrhozie (sp?) or something???

My alba cuttings of 'Great Maiden's Blush', 'Alba Maxima' and 'Mme.
Plantier' are still looking good, but they are only 1 (most of them) to 3
weeks old! Hardly worth noting yet...

What time frame do you notice you have a successful cutting?
How soon do you re-pot or set out your cuttings?

                ~Carleen~
