Hi Kirk and the List.
Leca is first of all used as an airy isolating material in
buildings. It is a very light concrete form. It weights nearly nothing, reminds
of cinders, and looks like small brown stones. It is also common
used by gardeners in plant propagation to make the soil airy
and keep the moist.
I don't know what perlite is! Maybe it is the same
product!
