Re: Lillian True's records

I used to belong to the glorious Robin No.2 , Sansevieria, of the Cactus &
succulent Journal, to which Lillian True belonged.
Among her plants she listed Sansevieria 'Wide Striped Giant' which, we all
know, was brought back by her.
Hermine lists in her book the same plant as S. 'White Striped Giant'.
So who is right? Lillian, one would say. She is the originator of the plant.
Wrong!
Hermine is right.
Lillian True repeatedly said: "I collect plants and I do not name them",
Hermine does that.
So, it pays to know a little bit of history!
"White" makes more sense, anyway, since the variegation is white and the
leaves are not particularly wide.
