The Cactus & Succulent Society of Maryland (CSSM) held its annual holiday
party yesterday (Saturday, 12-12-98) at Bob Petza's house. Why am I telling
you this?
Joining the festivities was Jon Millar from Ellicott City, MD. If the name
sounds familiar, he accompanied Juan and Clyde Reed on their search for
Sansevieria trifasciata cultivars in the Maryland area. He is the person
who discovered 'Futura Simplex'. He still grows a plant or two of it in his
modest collection. (see B. Juan Chahinian (1986) THE SANSEVIERIA
TRIFASCIATA CULTIVARS. page 38)
We talked as we admired Bob's diverse succulent collection and he gave me
his business card. I hope to visit him and get a cutting of his discovery.
His primary interest is hardy succulents, however.
Jon said to say hello to Juan. Unfortunately, he does not have a PC.
Cereusly, Steve.
