Norma, i used to get lots of plants which were collected by normal people
who were in Africa. they had no degrees in botany and they were very
interested in collecting ANYWAY. many of them put a name to a plant like
Sort of like Dawei and i found it here.(further information).
I have so many plants like this. seldom do I list them in the catalog. but
i have been know to give them away. i do not label them 'dawei'; rather, i
put the original label, "collected by so and so, who thought it looked like
Dawei", plus a date and a location. maybe you have something like one of
these.
MEANWHILE, oh this is HOT!!!!! wahoooo! I bought a regular old trifasciata
in Costco because i thought i saw one stripe of some sort different from
the regular snakey pattern in a few leaves. i just noticed that it has
grown into a great big fifteen gallon tub of stuff and half of it is as
brightly yellow variegated a plant as Forescate. it is huge and the
variegated leaves are somewhat wider than normal trifasciata. tomorrow i am
going to take it out of the pot and separate the yellow half from the green
half. i will of course keep the green half to see what ever else it is
thinking of. i am stoked!
