Re: Now 48 pictures on Sans's page

Dear Supannee,

Once again, you have added top notch photographs to your website. It
continues to get better and better as it expands.

After looking over your newest additions to you website, I have a few
comments to make on the names of the plants shown. I hope I am not
overwelming you with corrections. I realize many of the names were those
under which you received the plants.

Sans. roxburghiana (GC 79-63) is actually Sans.ebracteata (GC 79063)

Sans.sp.  # 12681 is Sans.suffruticosa (Bally 12681)

Your Sans.suffruticosa with flattened and deeply ridged leaves is
Sans.suffruticosa 'Mutomo'

Sans.dawei is not that species, probably Sans.forskaoliana. The original
Sans. dawei is described as having petiolate, faintly marked leaves much
like Sans. 'Masai'.

Sans.consticua is not a valid name and the plant is not Sans.conspicua. It
looks like a form of Sans.hyacinthoides.

Sans.pinguicula (Lavranos 12240) is the full name of the collection.

Sans.schweinfurthii (GC 78210) should be Sans.erythraeae (GC 78210)

First impression of your Sans.cylindrica is that it is too slender and
leafy to be that species. If the leaves are smooth, unbanded and lack a
sharp tip, it too is Sans.erythraeae.

Sans.deserti is a synonym of Sans.pearsonii

Sans. aff. ehrenbergii (LAV 24977) is Sans. rorida (Lavranos 24977)

Your dward dark green leafed Sans.aethiopica appears to be more similar to
your Sans.scabrifolia.

X Gastrolea 'Green Ice' should be X Gasteraloe 'Green Ice' The hybrid genus
name Gastrolea is not valid.

Dorstenia sp. is Dorstenia foetida

Melocactus ferrophyllus is correctly spelled Melocactus ferrophilus.

Mellocactus lendselinkianus is correctly spelled Melocactus
lensselinkianus.

Buiningia purpurea is now Coleocephalocereus purpureus.
