Dear Narda,
I never said Rousseau didn't know his subject. Artists paint from their own
experiences and each makes a unique statement of their own. In Rousseau's
paintings, the plants and animals were symbolic and not intended to be
scientifically correct.
Art is subjective and everyone interprets it differently.
Please, don't allow yourself to be manipulated by someone who is trying to
disrupt the forum.
As you say, the subject here is Sansevierias (in all their forms).

The above statement would make one want to conclude that Rousseau did not
know his subject. Ridiculous, I suppose that Gauguin did?
The subject here should be Sansevierias as it is obvious that some are
ignorant where art is concerned. I say that with a degree behind my name
and
years of study.
Someone please give me the how to on how to get off this list.
Sincerely,
