Re: [SANS] SANSEVIERIA trif. 'Loop's Pride' & Manolyn

'Manolyn' being white mostly, has leaves which i have decided, merely age
very very fast, so it is hard to have a beautiful specimen while some of
the leaves have those red-brown dried areas. The best-looking plants we
get are grown in a very drainy mix with bark chips and have occasionally
been grown in those redwood baskets intended for orchids. they are grown
rather bright in a hot humid greenhouse and regularly drenched AND DRIED by
the hot temps and wind circulation.

Many cultivars of thick and dark green lumpy, ridged kinds of green hahnii
arise from leaf-cuttings. if you ever see a mass-production greenhouse full
of leafcut-grown plants, you can pick them out. and a lot of them do come
true from these cuts. some of ours date back to the late 70s.

Loop's Pride is a real black-green...in case there is any concern about
whether or not that is what one has. some clones are margined in a kind of
green tweed.
