Other List?

 Dear Alan,

There once was another Sanseviera list but it did poorly and eventually its
moderator self-destructed and closed it out leaving its subscribers high and
dry. Everything from that forum is only a distant memory. All the valuable
information that was in its archives is gone forever. That is something that
I would never do with this list even if some people wish not to contribute.
We've even tolerated nonsense postings made in pidgin English even when the
rest of us were hoping for translations. Isn't that right Hermine. Whatever
happened to the translation of the original French description of
Sansevieria sambiranensis Perrier you promised over a year ago? You may have
been busy with other things but it is not fair for you to knock others who
do contribute. I see no reason to try to cause division in the community.
That was tried before and it failed.

We all appreciate the valuable English translations of original foreign
language plant descriptions by Alan and Juan and look forward to more. We
all appreciate Supannee including and extensive gallery of Sansevierias in
her homepage. Everyone who shares information is appreciated by all the
subscribers. We only wish that everyone would take the discussions more
seriously and actually share the valuable information and experiences they
have. It is unfortunate that there remain a few that wish to be secretive
about what they know. There is actually much that has yet to be said about
these interesting plants. Nobody has yet said anything of their commercial
uses as ornamentals or as fiber.

Still one is still free to be frivolous and frolic anytime they wish. Not
everything need to be deadly dry and serious. Diversity should be
encouraged.

At least Hermine admits this is the only forum in which one can hope to find
a serious discussion of Sansevierias! This forum is open to everyone and any
topic can be freely discussed. This forum is not an exclusive clique like
some other extinct or endangered species to which Hermine alludes. Nobody
will be excluded from this forum. Accept no substitutes.

This forum is about the plants and not personalities so lets strive to keep
it so.

Its a new year and we should look ahead to making the future better and
leave the past in the past.

at times like this one can almost be glad there is another frivolous list
for Sanseveriacs who are silly and occasionally deviate from the subject.
