Hi Crasulady and all
Unfortunately Myron is not coming to New Zealand (as far as I am aware!) He
is going to Australia (Brisbane actually) for their conference at Easter.
Now you should all understand this - the relationship between Australia and
New Zealand is a bit like that between the Canadians and the US-ites
(Americans is an all-encompassing term that doesn't quite fit here!), or
the English and the Welsh, or the English and the Scots, or the English and
anyone else for that matter! We are siblings, but quite separate and have a
fierce rivalry. We are also a long way from each other. The reasons for
this are deep in the mists of time, but mostly because of the way each
country was settled. If anyone is interested, I will elucidate. When the
crunch comes (eg war, a nuclear free pacific, etc) we are inclined to gang
up against everyone else, but most of the time we are competitors. The
Australians will say that this is because of New Zealanders' inferiority
complex, and there may be something in that. But please - never lump us
together, never confuse us - it makes us mad!!!!!!!
Love to all
Frances
