[SANS] Sansevieria presented by Mr. Eisel

Hi Gunnar,

Yes, your new pictures corroborates my identification of the plant. Though
now the markings (cross-banding) may be seen quite clearly. This is as much
cross-banding as this plant will show. So, it is not as etiolated as I was
given to understand by the first picture, though the recurving of the
leaves looks excessive for a plant grown in bright light.
Photo No. 2 shows a leaf in the center of the picture, from bottom left to
1/3 top right, that has the typical shape for this plant. The color is
dark-bluish green, petroleum green.,

George, George, Sansevieria sp. 'Bally 12681' is from southeast Kenya, the
size is about half or less and it has aerial rhizomes, or stolons. The
color is medium green and the shape of the leaf is many times totally
cylindrical with attenuate tips.

The plant. indeed, is not a common one, though, since it was collected many
years ago it is in the hand of most of the "hard-core" collectors.

Thanks for the pictures they are very nice.

Juan
