Hi Carolyn and all,
This is what I found in my e-mail archive. It's an answer by Juan
on the same question:
"Sansevieria sp. 'Socotra' is an invalid name that should be forgotten,
the
sooner the better. The plant collector was John Lavranos and he publicly
acknowledged that there are no Sansevierias on the Island of Socotra. The
screw-up, including the number given to the plant, was done by I.S.I.
apparently because Lavranos visited the island the same year he visited
Mozambique. The plant in question comes, without any doubt, from Mozambique.
It is close to Sansevieria concinna. For more information see Vol.1, No. 1
of
The Sansevieria Journal."
greetings from the middle of the Netherlands,
Piet
