Re: [SANS] Sansevieria patens and S. sp. 'Koko'

Juan and all, I talked to Alice Waidhoffer last night. The story went as
such: "At the time Ed Eby did not find any Sans. in Koko crater in Hi. When
she looked she did find the group that was planted by our US Agr. Department.
When she found 'Patens' she begged for forest ranger for a piece, told him
that she must have it. She then gave it to Ed Eby for propagation, he
distributed the plant, not Alice. Since then she saw in a journal from India
an article describing this plant" She still may have the original journal if
so, I will ask to have that copied also. All of her labels have exactly
where she got the plant or who gave it to her, giving due credits. She has
also pressed flowers to go with many of the plants, this is why we have been
so eager to get this very valuable collection.

In all sincerity I have tried to tell the story exactly as told to me. Norma
