Dear Gunnar,
Sansevieria hargeisana Chahinian (Sansevieria Journ. 3 (3): 53 (1994)) is a member of what I refer to as the Sansevieria suffruticosa group. It differs from all the other species in the group by producing subterranean stolons and by having a much shorter floral stem. Most of the other members of the group produce aerial stolons (= runners). The flowers have a much shorter floral tube than Sansevieria suffruticosa N.E. Brown and Sansevieria sp. 'Bally 12681'. Sanseviera phillipsiae N.E. Brown and Sansevieria gracilis N.E. Brown differ from it most obviously by having smooth (not roughened) leaves.
Please keep a record of your plant acquisitions and correct the spelling on your label. Please also note that species epithets are never capitalized. What are your personal observations on these plants?
The identity of this species has already been explained in detail in the Sansevierias forum back in July 1998.

Hi Gunnar,
I identified the plant as Sansevieria hargeisana Chahinian, (not 'Hargeisa'),
a plant that I validly described.
Since I explained the differences that your are asking, at that time, I will
let somebody anybody else take over.
Regards
Juan

Dear Folks
A year or so ago I acquired a mature specimen of a Sans identified as
"Sansevieria Hargeisa" (Somalia). Can anyone describe the differences
between this plant and other similar plants such as S. Bally 12681 or S.
Phillipsiae?
