Re: [SANS] Sansevieria 'Horwood'

Dear Aneita,

That's correct, David Grigsby officially named FKH 424 as the cultivar
Sansevieria 'Horwood' for its collector Frank Horwood. Several dealers have
Latinized the name but it is not a valid species name and, as I have
pointed out, never will be because the species already has a name.

I believe the website you may be referring to is the One-line Sansevierias
page.

Hi Steve;

So the correct name is Sans. 'Horwood' ? I want to make sure my plant is
labeled correctly and will also inform the friend who was the source. We
just had the number. We saw it at some Cactus/Succulent shows in the area
and the picture in the old Abbey Gardens catalog. Thanks for the
information, Steve and List :-)

Hi Jeff;
My plant is too young to flower. So is my friend's plant from where I got
the start. When it blooms we will know! It appears that the one I have
should be Sansevieria 'Horwood' not horwoodii. Time will tell. I wish I
did
have her book.

I visited a really neat website the first time I was on the Sans List about
a
year ago, now I cant find it. I can't remember any details either, but
there
were a lot of photos. Wish I could see a picture of your plant.
Aneita
