"Loop's Pride" has broken my heart repeatedly in the
past. I would get one, only to watch it die. I think
it has such striking coloring--including the cultivars
which have 'tweed' edging, in Hermine's words. (And a
good word it is. I hadn't been able to figure out how
to describe it.)
This winter I brought my Hahnii plants indoors to the
light garden where they stay warm and are watered from
the bottom. They seem happy, though they aren't growing
very much. They get dried out very quickly where they
are, in an old light stand with the old, heat-producing
ballasts, and I have to keep reminding myself to water.
