Hi Piet,
Sansevieria fasciata Cornu, is a valid name. It is published as such,
without description in N.E. Brown's publication. It is also one of the
plants said to have been cultivated in the greenhouses of the Museum in
Paris, in the work of Gerome and Labroy, also without description, though
coming from the Congo.
A description, possibly based on the original by Cornu, is shown in the
publication on Sansevieria from Lucknow, India and the width of the leaf,
5" wide (12,5 cm.) for its relatively short height of 2 1/2 ft. (45cm.) ,
along with the color and provenance, suggest that its parentage with S. sp.
'Mason Congo' should not be ruled out.
Juan
