Norma and all,

Thanks Norma.
Sansevieria sp. 'Lundi Bat' is a variety of S. hallii. It has bright markings
lighter than and resembling S. fischeri. I gave it the cultivar name, (as I
did with 'Blue Bat' and 'Pink Bat') until one can be sure that there is, or
there is not, a difference with S. hallii.
The plant was part of a group sent to me by John Lavranos via the late Manny
Singer. It was collected near the Lundi River in Zimbabwe, hence the name.
I have planted a couple of dozens of this plant in the ground, as well as a
similar amount of S. sp. 'Blue Bat', also from Zimbabwe. The two have a
similar growing habit, somewhat different from S. hallii and S. sp. 'Pink
Bat', which appears to be somewhat different, since it was collected in Venda
further away that the three former ones. I also planted these in the ground.
Venda is a small area north of South Africa. I have been promised two more
collections from northern South Africa (close to Venda) and am still waiting
to see how these look like.

To summarize leaf propagation:
Absolutely all sansevierias can be propagated by leaf cuttings, that is
species, natural hybrids or man-made hybrids..
The only ones that do not come always true to type are the chimeras.

Cheers,
Juan
