Just got this reply from Juan and with his permission have posted it
to the group.
Hi John,
thanks for your e-mail and the welcome.
Sansevieria trifsciata 'Hendrika' was named by Alan Butler, Ziad al Witri
(the owners of Brookside) and me in conjunction with Hendrika, a Dutch lady
friend of theirs, who was present at the time in the greenhouses of
Brookside. I have to say that it may be quite close to S. t. 'Golden
Banner' from Glasshouse Works, a plant they have promised to send me but
they never did.
It is a sport of S. t. 'Futura' as is S.t. 'Futura Aurea', however, this
plant has, in addtion to the latter, a green edge. That is the only
difference.
As such it is the compact form of the larger S.t.' Cragii' and of the
smaller S.t, 'Golden Hahnii', all with the same arrangement of chimeral
layers.
I really cannot see how a leaf cutting of S.t. 'Hendrika' can produce S.t.
'Futura Aurea'.
If you wish you can convey this letter to the group.
Best regards,
Juan
