Sansevieria aubrytiana imposter

Dear John,

I wonder if your mystery Sansevieria may be Sansevieria liberica Gerome &
Labroy (including S.chinensis Gentil). The reddish margin excludes
S.fasciata Cornu as it is supposed to have a green margin like
S.trifasciata according to N.E. Brown. (Pseudo-) Petiolate leaves are
unusual in the genus.

The inflorescence of S.aubrytiana Carriere (including S.bracteata Baker) is
supposed to be similar to S.kirkii Baker. Lets hope the mystery plant
blooms soon.

What is Juan's view on all this?

The only thing I disagree with in the Kattermann Eriosyce book is the
inclusion of E.laui Luethy in the genus. It looks more like a Weingartia to
me.

Cereusly, Steve
