Hi Jon,
It sure was nice to hear from you. I looked up S. longifolia in Graf's,
EXOTICA IV and that is probably the plant growing on Culebra. Graf's picture
doesn't show much of the leaf which is the only ID I have. I haven't seen it
in flower -yet. The green is a pale green.
And, Kalanchoe pinnata is another that looks correct. I have a number of
"Mother of Millions" varieties - they grow easily here in the heavy
clay/mud/rock. Culebra doesn't have the rain forest climate of the mainland
and we are limited in what can grow. These aren't particular about the growing
conditions - or I guess if they were and Culebra had those conditions we'd be
yanking them out along with the other @##$%
