Sansevieria fasciata Forescate

A short introduction: I am 59, married, 3 children. geneticist, working
with yeast and aspergillus for 30 years Now into plants genetics,
succulents and hosta to mention a few and of course some sansevieria.
I have a large plant of S trifsciata Forescate
It is a plant were clearly the three layers, as present in each
Sanseveria can be seen The L1 is green , the L2 is yellow and the L3 shimmering
through is green again The nice thing is that, whereas the L2/L3 are
diploid the green edge the L1 is hexaploid ie has 3 times as much DNA
What I really wanted to tell was the following: I planted
leafcuttings of this plant. The first new shoot is yellow, but will
likely die when detached. The second one obtained was green. During a
student course I gave them the plant. With help of a flowcytometer
they found the green sprout to be diploid. So now we have a yellow
sprout from the L2 and a green sprout from the L3 showing that both
layers can lead to new sprouts Of course not much statistics can be done
here. Has any of you planted a leafcutting of Forescate?
