Hello,
My name is B. Juan Chahinian
I thank Diana Pederson for introducing the group to me.
As all of you, I like Sansevierias. I have worked for them for a while.
I have written the book " The Sansevieria Trifasciata Varieties", several
articles in the American Cactus & Succulent Journal, the British Cactus &
Succulent Journal and the Dutch "Succulenta". I published The Sansevieria
Journal. I made two field trips to Kenya and Zimbabwe collecting
sansevierias y also validly described four new species:
Sansevieria hargeisana, S. francisii, S. eilensis and S. hallii.
I have also been able to artificially induce variegation on all sansevieria
species and have done so. Feel free to ask any questions other than those
specific to the actual production of variegation. Thank you.
One year ago I moved to Naples, Fla. and this disrupted my work, which
along with other personal problems, compelled me to have to give up on
publishing the Sansevieria Journal. I am preparing a "beginner's" book on
the species and I really want to do more research. For those who subscribed
to the Journal I will return have of the subscription money accounting for
half a year. Please let me know. I apologize for the delay but it was a
very difficult decision to take and I have only taken it a couple weeks
ago, regardless of what you may have heard. I am most thankful for the
patience that all the subscribers have shown.
I will only be able to answer any correspondence after the 10th of
November since I will be in Europe until then.
Thanks,
B. Juan Chahinian
