Re: S.sp.'Masai'


Dear Steve:

It is obvious that Stu Cramer misidentified the misidentified plant in
Morgenstern's book.

Sansevieria 'Masai' is indeed an invalid name, since one can only conjecture
that he just misread it or made it up.

One can call a plant whatever one wants.
However bringing up yet another name S. 'Stu Cramer', an invalid name as
well, only adds to the confusion.

If it were to be identified and found that it is related to the ones from
Mozambique/South Africa, the authority could keep or not keep this name.
There is no reason not to call it 'Beverly Hills' if desired.

Therefore I see no reason to do away with S. 'Masai'.

Further, I do not see it that related to spoon shaped ones.
