Happy Holidays!I will attending the 39th annual Vegetable & Seed conference on Feb. 1-3. I will be on a panel of six to discuss on how could seed companies better educate the public. This Home Garden Committee Panel Discussion is not meant to debate certain "hot" topics but to find out what the public wants. I am to be representing the home gardener, which I feel includes all school and community gardens. Let me be your mouth piece! If you could take a moment to fill out the following survey and either e-mail it back to me: K*@prodigy.net or fax it to: 805/647-6094 mail it to: PO Box 5269 Ventura, CA 93005 it would greatly help me present all people's concerns.thank you in advance:Deborah MillsVice-President Ventura County,Master GardenerSeed Survey(If you want follow up info please fill out the following survey in its entirety)Name, address & phone number: (optional)Years of gardening ______Would you classify yourself as a beginner, amateur, advanced or other_______?Do you consider yourself an organic gardener?Do you use chemical pesticides or herbicides? What do you do for pest control?Do you use chemical fertilizers? What do you use for fertilizer?Do you plant from transplants or seeds?(If both please specify percentage ratio)Do you purchase your seeds from nurseries or seed catalogs?(If both please specify percentage ratio)Do you know the definitions of: open pollinated (OP) heirloom, hybrid, organic, genetically modified organisms (GMO)?(If you only know some terms, which ones do you not understand)? When purchasing seeds do you look for certain characteristics or does it matter to you?
