Hi, I don't know what part of the country you are from but picked up your
email re other resources and I recently came across a new publication that I
am very impressed with, called GARDEN DETECTIVES, A guide to using your
powers of observation to solve the mystery of creating a healthy garden,
published by the Community Enviornmental Council, 930 Miramonte Drive, Santa
Barbara, CA 93109. (805) 963-0583
I have both the books you mentioned in your email and they're both good, but
this one is more hands-on curriculum based activities usable for volunteers
and teachers alike and covers a broader area than the other two. The
slightly different approach than other publications I've used that are
similar in theme, is that this really does focus on the child's powers of
investigation. The pages are easy to xerox too! Good Luck, Bonnie Freeman,
Coordinator, Santa Monica School Gardens Program and Outreach Consultant for
Gardening Angels/UCCE Los Angeles County.
