An excellent spot on the Today Show with Carol Browner not only advised
people not to use Dursban, but explained the problems with pesticide
regulation.
Please go to this website:
http://www.msnbc.com/news/417969.asp
If you can, click on the video to see an excellent interview with Tina
Williams and her three beautiful children.
See the story that looks at loopholes in pesticides law.
Also, vote on a recall and vote this article a 7 at the end of the page
so it will reach more people.
Although a recall would be the best, I understand the vulnerability of
the EPA as far as lawsuits are concerned. Carol Browner was guided by
her conscious on this decision. We all know that it took determination
on her part and she had tremendous pressure from the industry to do
otherwise. We should pray for her continued determination to removed
dangerous pesticides from the market and her protection from factions
that are concerned with money more than people.
We should thank Carol Browner and the others in the Clinton
Administration and the EPA who had the courage to make this decision,
all the people and groups who are working on the regulation of
pesticides, Environmental Working Group with their wonderful
BanDursban.org website, National Coalition Against the Misuse of
Pesticides, Natural Resource Defense Council, Consumers Union, the
researchers who put time and great effort into proving our cases, the
press who overcame pressure to bring stories to public consciousness,
Tina Williams and the others damaged by pesticides, who wrote to the EPA
and came forward to tell their stories.
Most of all, give thanks to God who guided us and continues to guide
us. This is truly a David and Goliath story. David only won with God's
help.
