The Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Environmental Education supports the training of 100,000 teachers each year; makes hundreds of seed grants to schools and nature centers; and further builds the institutional strengths of the environmental education
profession.
President Bush's proposed budget will CLOSE the Office of Environmental Education eliminate $8 million of EE funding and eliminate 12 years of support that educators and students have benefited from each year.
Tomorrow, March 20th at 9:30am the Senate Appropriations Committee is expected to review the EPA's budget.
