EE-Link, your Link to Environmental Education resources on the Internet, is
pleased to announce the launch of EE-Link Update, a monthly newsletter which
will highlight some of the new resources being added to the EE-Link site.

EE-Link is updated daily and provides a vast array of resources for the EE
Professional, Educators, and Students of all ages seeking information - from
Capacity Building or Sustainable Development to activities for the
schoolyard!

Gathering for Educators", September 18-21, 2003. Submission Deadline: May

Rivers Project - 2003 Summer Training

The Rivers Project of Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville (SIUE)
annual summer training aimed at educators and environmental professionals to
help increase scientific literacy through river study.  Attendees will focus
on one of the six curricula while receiving interdisciplinary training in
all.



EnviroHealth Connections Summer Institute

An annual professional development opportunity in environmental health and
ed tech, presented by Maryland Public Television and the Johns Hopkins
Bloomberg School of Public Health, for middle and high school teachers of
all curriculum areas. Earn 3 M.S.D.E. Continuing Education Professional
Development credits (with local district approval).

NAAEE 2003 Awards - Call for Nominations

NAAEE's 2003 Awards Committee is now accepting nominations for the following
awards: Outstanding Service to EE by an Individual; Outstanding Service to
EE by an Organization; Outstanding Affiliate; Outstanding Contributions to
Research in EE; and, the Walter E. Jeske Award (for outstanding service to
NAAEE and leadership in the field of EE). Nomination Deadline: June 4th



Schumacher College Scholarships for US Citizens

Schumacher College is pleased to announce a generous grant of $60,000 from
the Educational Foundation of America (EFA), which will make it possible for
the College to offer a new scholarship programme to suitable US citizens.

students and their teachers, focused on shorebird migration. The site
includes monthly lesson plans, great links AND a 90 minute webcast of the
"virtual field trip" Alaska's Copper River Delta conducted in 2002



EPA Water Sourcebooks

Created by the EPA, The Water Sourcebooks contain 324 activities for grades
K-12. This environmental education program explains the water management
cycle using a balanced approach showing how it affects all aspects of the
environment. Activities are available online in PDF and are also available
on CD-ROM.



Cycles of the Earth and Atmosphere

An on-line teaching module for middle school science teachers providing
background information and supporting classroom teaching materials. The
content focus is climate change and issues related to both stratospheric and
tropospheric ozone.



Take A Walk Books

A series of nature-adventure books that turn kids onto the natural treasures
they can find in their own backyard, schoolyard, or local park. Teaches
respect and appropriate nature observation behavior. Two books to date: both
recommended by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA). These books
also make a great study guide for teachers and homeschoolers.
