from the Seed Savers Exchange, Garden Seed Inventory, 5th Ed.:
Nutmeg: 80-87 days -- Heirloom from the 1830s, greenish-orange flesh, 2
lbs., fine aroma, good flavor, midseason, grows well in northern climates.
(also called Edem Gem, Rocky Ford, Netted Gem)
One grower in this year's Seed Savers Exchange directory describes the
fruit at one lb. At any case, I think it's a good choice to try on a
strong trellis.
Last year I grew Charentais and Minnesota Midget on nylon trellis material,
spaced 16-18 in.
I also have some seed for Nutmeg, which I'll be trying this year.
I hope it works well for both of us!
