Ask your lumber yard for free "scrap lumber". We built our boxes out of OAK
2x12 (or 2x10 -- I'm not much on carpentry) that were given to us by the
lumber yard as "scrap lumber". They were perfect. Have been in my garden
for 3 or 4 years. We didn't think about using rebar to peg them into the
ground, we used stakes, but rebar would be a great idea --- with the little
tennis balls on top as was suggested for safety sake! ... Nickie
