Speaking of boiling water - I've always been told that if you come in
contact with poison ivy, washing your skin with the hottest water you
can stand will wash away the oils which cause the rash, thus preventing
it from ever appearing.  Fortunately, I don't seem to get poison ivy as
bad as I used to. . .
