Unfortunately here in the USA the schools are so different it would not be
fair to say they are good or bad, some are great - like the one my kids
attend, like your sons school they do lots of hands on things and allow the
kids to color the carrots purple (even in French class when they are studying
colors my daughter has colored things the "wrong" color, her teacher just
added the correct word for what ever color she made the things).
I find it sad that the few bad schools/techers get more coverage then the
good ones.
By the way - frog-spawn is correct but we are more likely to say they are
keeping tadpoles. My kids have some that have just hatched, 2 big ones, 1
little one and 2 more eggs in their hatchery (it was a kit we bought). They
are fun to watch.
