I think you'd risk burning your plants if you left it on, but I don't have
experience with it. I assume it's going to get very hot under the plastic
90+? My local seed shop sells plastic that "breathes" so it's supposed to be
more forgiving if you leave it on a little, but I've never had to cover, so
this is a most uninformed opinion. Wishing you well,
