You could try Thunbergia alata - Black Eyed Susan Vine.

Here's what it says in Johnny's Seeds catalog
"Delightful, charming and fast growing vine. 1-2" tube shaped blooms in
orange, yellow and an occasional white with startling black eyes. Elegant 2"
light green, heart-shaped leaves. Heat tolerant. Blooms early summer until
frost. Moist, well-drained soil. Ht. 60-120"

Maybe mix in some morning glories in purple - the purple and yellow would
complement each other.

Ann
Zone 4, Colorado, where it's finally warming up.

Here's what I am looking for:
>
>Vigorous climber
>Can withstand lots of sun and heavy heat (90-110, daily watering will be
>provided)
>Grows thick and full
>Foolproof (i.e. not a clematis)
>Fragrant is a plus, but a climbing vegetable is also OK
