Dear thyme,
I too live in Oregon (Portland area) and my lettuce is also quite small. I
don't know about your area, but we've had a few nights below freezing and
my plants are just now aclimating to being out of the cold frame. All I
can say is to be patient. This happened last year too, and by the
beginning of May, I was never without fresh greens.
