Re: Lettuce

Hi Chris

I don't know why it happens. I do know that I have been eating leaf
lettuce with this condition for most of my 76 years and the results of my
last physical examination did not show any of the symptoms of lettuce
poisoning. It does make the lettuce taste bitter. When it gets too bitter
I tear off the leaf on either side of the stem and discard the stem.
