Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Peas and broccoli can probably be planted in the next few weeks (5 weeks
before your last frost date), so use the time to warm the soil by
covering your beds with clear 4mm plastic. Carrots and lettuce will need
another week. No protection is necessary, unless it snows. However, I
keep the plastic cover or a row cover on until the seedlings come up and
then any nights that fall below freezing. The plants won't be injured
by a nip of frost, but I am usually very impatient!
BTW, lettuce can be started indoors about 3 weeks before planting out,
so if you start them now they will be ready at just about the right
time.
Good gardening!
