Hi Frank,
Any system will work if you "turn" your compost pile to keep it mixed up. A
compost pile should get hot, when it cools, mix it up, add more material, wet
it down. I bought one of those rather large plastic compost bins, it works
as long as I keep the material mixed up. If left to it self, it takes a very
long time to compost. If I had it to do over a gain, I'd buy the bin that's
round and can rotate. I may still buy one, don't know. The best system I've
ever seen was concrete and cinderblock made into three bins, 4wX4lX4h, no
front. You fill the first one, month later turn the whole pile into the
second bin, refill the first, a month later, turn the pile in the second bin
into the third bin to finish, put the first into the second, fill the first
you get the idea. It's too rich for my blood, but it's the best I've ever
seen.
