I had good luck with the cotton rope for vertical on the "football
post" style trellis built from 1x1s and then used eye hooks spaced
about 6 inches apart on the horizontal using 20 guage wire strung
between these.
This gave plenty of room to train tomatoes up the rope with extra
room to tie off branches from suckers I forgot to pinch and space for
vines from cukes to "run all over" on second bed.
